McDowell County Criminal Justice Partnership Program provides funding for:

• Substance Abuse Treatment including In-Patient Treatment for female offenders

• Psychological Assessments and Treatment

• Anger Management

• Parenting Classes

Who is eligible?

• An adult offender convicted of a misdemeanor or felony offense and received a non-incarcerative sentence of an intermediate punishment.


• An adult offender who has been released on parole or post-release supervision after serving an active sentence
(Statutory Authority G.S 143B-273.4)

Election to Apply for Funding

A county may apply for funding by:

• A vote of the Board of County Commissioners approving the decision to apply;

• An appointment of a County Criminal Justice Partnership Advisory Board; and

• The Board or Boards of County Commissioners shall notify the Secretary of Correction of intent to apply and may request technical assistance
